- This chassis Acura MDX PHEV (2022-2025) uses NXP HITAG-AES (NCF29A1M, 4A, 128-bit) — newest Honda/Acura security. Requires AES cloud token (Autel IMKPA Honda ~$5-15/session / Lonsdor K518 USA Honda AES module / Xhorse KH100). PIN mandatory for AKL (NASTF VSP or dealer-bound on 2024+ VINs).
- Smart proximity or remote head key: ensure existing key fob battery is functional before starting.
- Verify chip before booking (this chassis facelift): Honda spans ID13 (pre-2003) → ID46 V chip (2003-2014) → ID47 (2014-2017) → 4A AES (2018+); Toyota spans 4C (1998-2002) → 4D67 dot (2003-2007) → G chip (2008-2013) → H 8A (2014+). Some facelift mid-MY chassis swap chip — confirm transponder ID from a working key with Lonsdor K518 reader before quoting.
- Tool kit context: Autel IMKPA + Honda/Toyota cloud token (~$5-15/session) and Lonsdor LKE Smart Key Emulator for K518 simulated-key flow are the dominant accessories.
