Notes & cautions
- This chassis Chevrolet Astro uses GM Passlock (1995-2005) — resistor-based immobilizer, NOT a transponder. The blade alone starts the vehicle after a 30-minute in-vehicle learn cycle. No chip-programming tools needed. Bypass modules (PK3 bypass) also available if customer wants remote start.
- GM smart proximity or remote head key: ensure existing key fob battery is functional before starting.
- Tool kit context: Autel IM608 Pro II + IMKPA GM module and Lonsdor LKE Smart Key Emulator can reprogram remote-function radio for Passlock cars if equipped. APB112 simulator, G-Box bench EEPROM, XP400 PRO NOT applicable for resistor-based Passlock immobilizer.
- Chevrolet Astro Passlock AKL — cut new blade, no chip programming.
- 30-minute in-vehicle learn cycle required (three 10-min cycles).
