- This chassis Mazda Tribute (2001-2007) uses Texas 4D60 (Ford Escape platform — Mazda Tribute is rebadged). PATS-compatible tools work: Autel IM608 Pro II + IMKPA Ford module, Lonsdor K518 USA + Ford adapter, Xhorse VVDI + KH100 Ford. PIN via FORScan with license or autokeyprog.com PATS calculator.
- Key fob/blade: ensure existing battery (if applicable) is functional before starting.
- Verify chassis chip before booking: ID49 HITAG-PRO (2014-2019 era) transitions to 6A HITAG-AES on facelift CX-5 KF / Mazda 3 BP / CX-30. Confirm transponder ID from a working key with Lonsdor K518 reader before quoting. Mid-cycle MY transitions documented on CX-5 and Mazda 3.
- Tool kit context: Autel IMKPA Mazda module (cloud token ~$5-15/session) and Lonsdor LKE Smart Key Emulator for K518 simulated-key flow are the dominant accessories. Xhorse KH100 + Mazda module also confirmed. APB112 simulator, G-Box bench EEPROM NOT required. XP400 PRO only for IMMO box EEPROM fallback.
- All existing keys erased. Bring ALL replacement keys before starting — minimum 2.
- No manual AKL for Mazda Tribute 4D60 — professional tool mandatory.
