Notes & cautions
- This chassis Nissan Frontier uses Texas PCF7936 (ID46) with NATS-5 / NATS-6 immobilizer (2005-2021). NATS-5/6 covered natively by Lonsdor K518 USA, Autel IM608 Pro II + IMKPA Nissan module, Xhorse VVDI Key Tool Plus Nissan module, OBDSTAR X300 DP Plus Nissan menu. PIN read tool-side via OBD — NASTF lookup not required for NATS-5/6 era.
- Standard 16-pin DLC OBD path; no XP400 PRO bench, no APB112 simulator needed for add-key.
- Smart proximity or remote head key: ensure existing key fob battery is functional before starting.
- Verify chassis NATS generation before booking: NATS-5 (1999-2009 typical) and NATS-6 (2010+ typical) differ in tool flow — confirm transponder ID from a working key with Lonsdor K518 reader before quoting. Some 2010+ Nissans transitioned to HITAG-AES in mid-cycle — verify chip before ordering blanks for facelift years.
- Tool kit context: Autel IMKPA Nissan module is the dominant add-key accessory ($5-10/session). Lonsdor K518 USA + Nissan adapter and Xhorse VVDI Key Tool Plus + Nissan KH100 module also confirmed. APB112 simulator, G-Box bench EEPROM, XP400 PRO, LKE Smart Key Emulator NOT required for OBD-only NATS add-key.
- All existing keys erased. Bring ALL replacement keys before starting — minimum 2.
- No manual AKL for Nissan Frontier NATS-5/6 — professional tool mandatory (Lonsdor K518 / Autel / Xhorse / OBDSTAR).
- NATS-5/6 AKL via OBD — PIN read tool-side; NASTF not required. Newest NATS-6 chassis (2010+) may dealer-bind on some VINs.
