Programming procedures
What the job needs
- Add a key: 1 existing working key required.
- All keys lost: no existing working key needed.
- PIN / security code: required — NASTF + Lonsdor K518 + dealer.
- Online / server access: required — Autel IMKPA cloud for AES.
- On-board (no tool) sequence: not available — Nissan Titan NATS HITAG-AES 4A requires professional OBD tool — no self-programming procedure for this transponder family.
- On site: engine off · Maintain 12V+ · Clear NATS DTCs.
- Bring: Photo ID + vehicle registration. VIN cross-check before start.

Notes & cautions
- This chassis Nissan Titan (2016-2024) uses NXP HITAG-AES (4A) — newest Nissan/Infiniti security tier. Requires Autel IMKPA Nissan AES token (cloud, ~$5-15/session), Lonsdor K518 USA AES module, or Xhorse VVDI KH100 Nissan AES token. PIN required for AKL (NASTF VSP or dealer-bound on newest VINs).
- Smart proximity or remote head key: ensure existing key fob battery is functional before starting.
- Verify chassis NATS generation before booking: NATS-3/4 (Texas 4D60, pre-2003 typical), NATS-5/6 (PCF7952 ID46, 2003-2013 typical), HITAG-AES (4A chip, 2014+ typical) — confirm transponder ID from a working key with Lonsdor K518 reader. Facelift mid-cycle chip swaps documented on Altima, Sentra, Pathfinder — verify chip before ordering blanks.
- Tool kit context: Autel IMKPA Nissan module ($5-15/session) and Lonsdor LKE Smart Key Emulator for K518 simulated-key flow are the dominant add-key accessories. Xhorse VVDI Key Tool Plus + KH100 Nissan module also confirmed. APB112 simulator, G-Box bench EEPROM NOT required for OBD-only NATS add-key. XP400 PRO only for damaged BCM EEPROM fallback.
- All existing keys erased. Bring ALL replacement keys before starting — minimum 2.
- No manual AKL for Nissan Titan HITAG-AES — professional tool mandatory.
- AKL on HITAG-AES typically needs NASTF VSP PIN, AES cloud token, and (on 2024+ VINs) dealer-bound seed-code calc — confirm AKL path before quoting.
- Keep all existing/lost key fobs at least 10 metres from vehicle during AKL.
- AKL accessory needs: Autel IMKPA + Nissan AES token for cloud calc on HITAG-AES VINs, Lonsdor LKE Smart Key Emulator for K518 simulated-key AKL path, Xhorse KH100 Nissan token. APB112 NOT mandatory. G-Box bench EEPROM NOT used. XP400 PRO only if BCM EEPROM corrupted (rare).
