Notes & cautions
- This chassis Scion FR-S uses Texas G chip (4D60 / 4D72, DST80 80-bit). G-chip OBD enrolment supported natively by Autel IM608 Pro II, Lonsdor K518 USA, OBDSTAR X300 DP Plus, and Xhorse VVDI Key Tool Plus. Newer 2024+ Autel US firmware may need IMKPA token ($5-15/session) for seed-code calc on some VINs. Standard 16-pin DLC path; no XP400 PRO bench, no APB112 simulator needed for OBD-only add-key.
- Smart proximity key: ensure existing key fob battery is functional before starting.
- Verify chip before booking: H-chip vs G-chip vs 4A AES generations share a fob shell but use different cryptosystems — confirm transponder ID from a working key with Lonsdor K518 reader before quoting.
- Tool kit context: most aftermarket flows use Autel IMKPA accessory or Lonsdor LKE Smart Key Emulator for cloud seed-code; Autel APB112 simulator and Autel G-Box bench EEPROM are NOT required for OBD-only add-key on this Toyota family. XP400 PRO only needed for damaged ECU EEPROM dump fallback.
- All existing keys erased. Bring ALL replacement keys before starting — minimum 2.
- No manual AKL for Scion FR-S G chip smart key — professional tool mandatory.
- AKL for Toyota/Lexus G chip typically needs dealer-issued PIN or seed-code cloud calc — confirm OBD AKL path before quoting.
- Keep all existing/lost key fobs at least 10 metres from vehicle during AKL.
- AKL accessory needs: Autel IMKPA Toyota module for cloud seed-code calc, Lonsdor LKE Smart Key Emulator for K518 simulated-key AKL path. APB112 simulator and Autel G-Box bench EEPROM are NOT mandatory for standard AKL on this Toyota family — only XP400 PRO is needed if the ECU EEPROM is corrupted (rare).
