Notes & cautions
- This chassis Dodge Intrepid (1998-2004) is pre-immobilizer — no transponder chip. The blade alone starts the vehicle. Locksmith cuts to OEM code from VIN or existing key. No chip-programming tools needed. Remote (if equipped) learned via in-vehicle key sequence per OEM service manual.
- Key/remote: ensure existing battery (if applicable) is functional before starting.
- Tool kit context: Lonsdor K518 USA + Autel IM608 Pro II + IMKPA can reprogram remote-function radio for pre-immobilizer cars if equipped. APB112 simulator, G-Box bench EEPROM, XP400 PRO, LKE Smart Key Emulator NOT applicable to mechanical-only chassis.
- Verify chip before booking (this chassis facelift): mechanical-only pre-immobilizer chassis. Some 1996-1999 facelift versions added transponder mid-cycle — confirm key has no chip with Lonsdor K518 reader before quoting.
- Dodge Intrepid pre-immobilizer — no chip-level AKL. Mechanical AKL via lock cylinder rekey or new ignition cylinder if lost lock.
- Bring ALL replacement remotes (if equipped) before starting in-vehicle programming sequence.
- No professional tool needed for blade — only locksmith cut. Remote-only AKL via in-vehicle key dance.
