- All keys lost: no existing working key needed.
- PIN / security code: required — ZenZefi cert per ECU.
- Online / server access: required — ZenZefi cert online.
- On-board (no tool) sequence: not available — 2022-2025 W206 has no DIY onboard programming. Mercedes XENTRY / DTS Monaco dealer relearn with valid ZenZefi certificates (6 types per ECU) is the guaranteed path. Aftermarket Add Key without ZenZefi cert is not reliably supported as of 2026-05-23 — Autel IMKPA + G-Box3 published coverage stops at ~2021 MY pre-NTG7.
- On site: engine off · 13V+ aux + charger · Clear EIS + NTG7 DTCs.
- Bring: Photo ID + vehicle registration. Title strongly recommended. ZenZefi-equipped locksmith log entry or Mercedes dealer service order.

Notes & cautions
- This chassis (W206 C-Class, 2022-2025) is Mercedes MBUX 2/3 era with NTG7 secure-gateway architecture and IYZMS5I FCC. Despite carrying an FBS4 BGA chip family lineage, the W206 + sibling W214 + EQ series adds a XENTRY ZenZefi certificate gate at the ECU level — aftermarket tools that worked on W205/W213 FBS4 BGA do NOT automatically work on W206. Heavy dealer-bound reality as of 2026-05-23.
- XENTRY ZenZefi certificates are required per ECU and per certificate type (After-sales Basic, After-sales Enhanced, Development, Development Enhanced, Production, Suppliers — 6 types). MB SD Connect C6 / Star C6 + DTS Monaco 9.02 is the dealer-grade rig. Aftermarket tools (Autel IM608 + IMKPA, Xhorse VVDI MB Tool, Lonsdor K518) do NOT carry valid ZenZefi certs — coverage limited to passive read or aborted at SCN coding step.
- Verify trim before quoting — C300 / C43 AMG / C63 AMG variants share W206 NTG7 architecture but AMG variants get stricter ZenZefi cert requirements. C63 AMG W206 uses PHEV powertrain (new 2.0L M139 + EQ Boost) — battery-disconnect re-init requires XENTRY at dealer, no aftermarket bypass. Customer should be referred to Mercedes service for key work if no specialized ZenZefi-equipped locksmith available locally.
- AKL on this chassis (W206 MBUX) is heavily dealer-bound as of 2026-05-23. ZenZefi certificates per ECU + NTG7 gateway authorization required. Aftermarket AKL coverage on W206 is not in primary published coverage of Autel/Xhorse/Lonsdor/OBDSTAR/AutoProPad. Customer should be referred to Mercedes service for AKL on W206 unless a ZenZefi-equipped specialist locksmith is available.
- Mercedes dealer AKL on W206 NTG7: full XENTRY session at MB-authorized service with valid ZenZefi cert chain. Cost typically 4-8x what an aftermarket locksmith charges on pre-2022 FBS4 BGA chassis. Customer should be advised of cost reality before scheduling.
- Verify trim before quoting AKL: C300 / C43 AMG / C63 AMG all share NTG7 architecture but AMG variants get stricter ZenZefi cert requirements + transmission re-init. C63 AMG W206 PHEV (M139 + EQ Boost) adds high-voltage battery pre-conditioning step to AKL session — increases dealer labor time.
