- This chassis (W453, Renault-Daimler co-developed) spans a different IMMO platform from W451 — use Smart W453 or Renault Twingo menu, NOT the W451 Mercedes SAM menu.
- Chip is PCF7961M (ID47) — NOT ID46 used on W451. Wrong chip blank will fail programming.
- Advanced Diagnostics Smart Pro: mhhauto forum (2018) documents bricking on 2016 Smart Fortwo 453. Verify updated W453 token and firmware before attempting.
- W453 is Renault-Daimler co-developed — use Smart W453 or Renault Twingo menu, NOT W451 Mercedes SAM menu.
- Chip is PCF7961M (ID47) — NOT ID46. Wrong chip blank will fail programming.
- AKL erases all registered keys — bring minimum 2 new CWTWB1G767 flip key blanks.
