What the job needs
- Add a key: 1 existing working key required.
- All keys lost: no existing working key needed.
- PIN / security code: required — NASTF VSP SAC (24-digit).
- Online / server access: required — Tool cloud login req'd.
- On-board (no tool) sequence: not available — 2020-2025 CT5 has no onboard programming. The pre-2017 GM "two-key cupholder relearn" only works for OEM Tech 2 / SPS2 — aftermarket Add Key still requires CAN FD adapter + NASTF SAC.
- On site: engine off · Maintain 13.5V+ · Clear IMMO + BCM DTCs.
- Bring: Photo ID + vehicle registration. VIN cross-check before SAC request. NASTF VSP record-keeping ~7 years.

Notes & cautions
- This chassis (CT5 2020-2025, Alpha 2 platform) is GM Global B / CAN FD architecture. Same SGM security as CT4 — requires Autel CAN FD adapter, OBDSTAR CAN FD adapter, or Lonsdor K518 Pro built-in CAN FD. Standard pre-2020 GM cables WILL NOT communicate with BCM. Verify trim before quoting — CT5-V Blackwing and base CT5 differ on customer pricing but procedure is identical.
- NASTF VSP 24-digit security access code MANDATORY for all aftermarket paths (Autel, OBDSTAR, AutoProPad, Lonsdor, Xhorse). GM blocked direct-server PIN retrieval in 2021. Code comes from NASTF SDRM portal or 3rd-party calculator service per VIN.
- CT5-V Blackwing on this variant uses the same HITAG-PRO ID49 key system as base CT5 — no separate procedure. Red-accent fob is cosmetic; PN 13541988 / 13538860 / 13536990 are programmatically identical. IM608 Pro II XP400 PRO bench module (kit bundle) is NOT used on this chassis — OBD only.
- AKL on this chassis erases all previously paired keys — bring minimum 2 new blanks. Single-key delivery after AKL is a customer service failure.
- NASTF VSP 24-digit SAC mandatory on Autel / AutoProPad / Lonsdor / Xhorse for this variant. OBDSTAR attempts bypass via 12-min door-cycle but success not guaranteed.
- 12-min door-cycle timer is the most failure-prone step on first attempt — door must be opened/closed every 3-4 seconds for the full timer. Pause = timer abort. Verify trim before scheduling — CT5-V Blackwing has same AKL workflow but customer expectations of "premium" service may differ.
