- On-board (no tool) sequence: not available — 2023-2025 Lyriq has no DIY/onboard programming. Dealer-side relearn requires two existing recognized keys and GM SPS2 / MDI 2. Aftermarket Add Key requires CAN FD-capable tool + NASTF SAC.
- On site: engine on · BEV READY + 13V aux · Clear IMMO + BCM DTCs.
- Bring: Photo ID + registration. VIN cross-check. NASTF VSP log retained 7 years.

Notes & cautions
- This chassis (Lyriq EV 2023-2025, Ultium platform) uses the standard GM Global B / CAN FD smart key (FCC YG0G20TB1) — same key hardware as CT4/CT5/Escalade T1XX, with Lyriq-specific PN 13553714. NOT the 2026 Lyriq Digital Key (key card / phone-as-key, launched 2026 MY only — separate procedure). 2023-2025 Lyriq is standard 5-button fob programming. Verify trim + build date — the 2026 MY Lyriq Digital Key is a different product even though the chassis name is unchanged.
- Lyriq is BEV on this variant — no engine crank. "Engine ON" in step instructions means READY mode (brake + START → vehicle WAKE). Power state during programming is BCM/IMMO awake from BEV high-voltage system; do NOT need 12V starter battery cranking but maintain 12V auxiliary battery above 13.0V.
- GM has been adding aftermarket Lyriq coverage progressively 2024-2025. Earliest 2023 Lyriq units sometimes need dealer SPS2 fallback if Autel/OBDSTAR/Lonsdor coverage is gated by software version. Verify chip before — confirm tool software level (Autel IM SOFTWARE V1.65+, AutoProPad G3 software ≥ Sep 2024) before quoting AKL on 2023 build dates.
- AKL on this chassis erases all existing keys. Bring minimum 2 new blanks. Verify trim — Lyriq Tech/Luxury/Sport all use same procedure but customer expectations may differ.
- Lyriq aftermarket AKL coverage on this variant is newer (2024+ tool software level) — Autel + AutoProPad G3 best-confirmed. OBDSTAR + Lonsdor + Xhorse may still need a 2025 software push before reliable. ALWAYS verify chip before quoting AKL on a Lyriq.
- NASTF VSP 24-digit SAC required. OBDSTAR-style bypass attempt NOT documented for Lyriq specifically — assume PIN required.
