Notes & cautions
- This chassis Jeep Cherokee uses NXP HITAG-AES (PCF7939M / PCF7953M, Stellantis SKIM 4, 2014-2023). Requires online AES token: Autel IM608 Pro II + IMKPA Chrysler cloud (~$5-15/session), Lonsdor K518 USA Chrysler AES module, Xhorse VVDI Key Tool Plus + KH100. PIN mandatory (Tech Authority subscription / NASTF / dealer on newest Wagoneer/Grand Wagoneer).
- Standard 16-pin DLC OBD path; no XP400 PRO bench, no APB112 simulator needed for OBD enrolment.
- Smart proximity or remote head key: ensure existing key fob battery is functional before starting.
- Verify chip before booking (this chassis facelift): Stellantis SKIM 4 AES era (2015+) replaced SKIM 3 PCF7941 on mid-cycle facelifts. Some 2014-2016 Chrysler 200, Grand Cherokee, Wrangler shipped with mid-MY chip swap — confirm transponder ID from a working key with Lonsdor K518 reader before quoting.
- Tool kit context: Autel IMKPA Chrysler cloud token (~$5-15/session) and Lonsdor LKE Smart Key Emulator for K518 simulated-key flow are the dominant accessories. Xhorse KH100 Chrysler also confirmed. APB112 simulator, G-Box bench EEPROM NOT required. XP400 PRO only for SKIM module bench fallback.
- All existing keys erased. Bring ALL replacement keys before starting — minimum 2.
- No manual AKL for Jeep Cherokee SKIM 4 AES — professional tool mandatory.
- AKL via OBD needs AES cloud token + PIN (Tech Authority / NASTF / dealer-bound on 2024+ Wagoneer).
- Keep all existing/lost key fobs at least 10 metres from vehicle during AKL.
- AKL accessory needs: Autel IMKPA + Chrysler AES token, Lonsdor LKE Smart Key Emulator for K518 simulated-key AKL path, Xhorse KH100 Chrysler. APB112 NOT mandatory. G-Box bench NOT used. XP400 PRO only if SKIM module EEPROM corrupted (rare).
