Notes & cautions
- This chassis Subaru Legacy uses Texas 4D60 / 4D62 (Subaru G chip, DST80 80-bit, 2010-2014). 4D60/4D62 covered by Autel IM608 Pro II + IMKPA Subaru module, Lonsdor K518 USA + Subaru adapter, Xhorse VVDI Key Tool Plus + KH100 Subaru, OBDSTAR X300 DP Plus Subaru menu. Standard 16-pin DLC OBD path; no XP400 PRO bench, no APB112 simulator needed for OBD-only add-key.
- Subaru BIU (Body Integrated Unit) handles IMMO function — pre-2015 chassis pre-CAN; ensure tool firmware supports legacy K-line for some years.
- Smart proximity or remote head key: ensure existing key fob battery is functional before starting.
- Verify chip before booking (this chassis facelift): 4D60 (2002-2007 typical) and 4D62 (2008-2014 typical) require different tool flows on some VINs. Some WRX/STI 2008-2010 used dual-immo BIU+ECM setup — confirm transponder ID from a working key with Lonsdor K518 reader before quoting.
- Tool kit context: Autel IMKPA Subaru module is the dominant add-key accessory (~$5-10/session). Lonsdor LKE Smart Key Emulator for K518 simulated-key flow on master-less chassis. Xhorse KH100 + Subaru module also confirmed. APB112 simulator, G-Box bench EEPROM NOT required for OBD-only 4D60 add-key. XP400 PRO only for BIU EEPROM bench fallback.
- All existing keys erased. Bring ALL replacement keys before starting — minimum 2.
- No manual AKL for Subaru Legacy 4D60/4D62 — professional tool mandatory.
- 4D60/4D62 AKL via OBD on this chassis (facelift Subaru) — BIU PIN read tool-side; NASTF lookup usually not required.
- Keep all existing/lost key fobs at least 10 metres from vehicle during AKL.
- AKL accessory needs: Autel IMKPA Subaru token, Lonsdor LKE Smart Key Emulator for K518 AKL path, Xhorse KH100 Subaru. APB112 simulator NOT mandatory. G-Box bench EEPROM NOT used. XP400 PRO only if BIU EEPROM corrupted (rare).
