- This chassis (Toyota Tacoma 2nd gen 2005-2015) spans Texas 4D67 → G-chip 4D72G chip transition — 2005-2010 typically 4D67, 2011-2015 typically G-chip 4D72G. Verify chip before ordering blanks. Tech Stream or K518 + Toyota OBP cable for on-board programming.
- 2005–early 2015: Texas 4D67 chip. Some 2015+ trims upgraded to Texas G chip (4D72) — confirm chip type before starting.
- Variant 0 (GQ43VT20T fob) has chip=none — no IMMO programming needed for the remote fob alone. Transponder key (variants 1–2) requires IMMO tool.
- Post-2024 Autel US firmware: Toyota add-key function may be affected by TMNA restrictions — verify on current firmware.
- All existing keys erased. Bring ALL replacement keys before starting — minimum 2.
- OBD AKL can require dealer-issued PIN (Toyota Techstream + NASTF) or EEPROM dump on some Tacoma 2nd gen ECUs — confirm OBD path before quoting AKL job.
