Notes & cautions
- This chassis (Hyundai Accent LC, 2nd gen, 2000-2005 NA) has SPLIT key system: separate MECHANICAL ignition key (HY14 blade, NO transponder chip — pre-Smartra era for Accent) + separate REMOTE FOB for keyless entry only (PINHACOEF311T 3-btn at 311 MHz, OEM PN 95430-3D201 / alt 95430-09000). Verify trim — keyless-entry-equipped trims only get the remote; base trims have mechanical-only.
- NO transponder IMMO on Accent LC NA — Smartra IMMO did not arrive on Accent until the MC generation (2006+). Mechanical ignition key is pure cut blank, no electronics. Cutting requires only the bitting code — no programming. Locksmiths often mistake LC for MC (2006+) which DOES have transponder — verify generation by year before quoting.
- Remote fob 311 MHz is unusual frequency (not standard NA 315 MHz) — verify chip before ordering blanks. Older aftermarket fobs labeled "315 MHz" may NOT pair with the 311 MHz BCM. Hyundai used 311 MHz on Accent LC + Sonata EF + Elantra XD same era (2000-2005). Most reputable replacement fobs are correctly tuned but verify FCC label on the back.
- AKL on this chassis: mechanical HY14 blade cut requires lock cylinder decoding (pick / impression / VIN-derived bitting). Remote AKL erases all existing pairings — bring minimum 2 new PINHACOEF311T-compatible fobs (311 MHz, NOT 315).
- NO transponder on Accent LC NA = no risk of bricking electronics. NO NASTF VSP required. Mechanical-cylinder failure modes only. The "Smartra" IMMO + transponder did not arrive on Accent until MC generation (2006+) — verify generation by year before quoting.
- Verify trim — base trims may have NO remote fob (mechanical-only), in which case AKL is purely mechanical decoding. Keyless-entry trims need both mechanical AKL + remote re-programming.
