Notes & cautions
- This chassis Land Rover LR3 (Discovery 3) uses Philips PCF7941/7945A/7953A HITAG-2 (2005-2009). Covered by Lonsdor K518 USA + JLR adapter, Autel IM608 + IMKPA JLR module, Xhorse VVDI Key Tool Plus + JLR KH100 module. PIN via BCM read or NASTF locksmith database.
- JLR smart proximity or remote head key: ensure existing key fob battery is functional before starting.
- Verify chip before booking (this chassis facelift): JLR ID49 HITAG-PRO (2014+) replaced PCF7941 HITAG-2 (2008-2014) which replaced Texas 4D60 (pre-2008). Some 2013-2015 Range Rover and Evoque chassis shipped with mid-cycle chip swap — confirm transponder ID from a working key with Lonsdor K518 reader before quoting.
- Tool kit context: Lonsdor JLR USA module is a SEPARATELY purchased SKU (~$200) — essential for K518 JLR coverage. Autel IMKPA JLR module + cloud token (~$5-15/session). Xhorse KH100 + JLR module also confirmed. APB112 simulator, G-Box bench EEPROM, LKE Smart Key Emulator NOT typically required. XP400 PRO for BCM bench fallback only.
- All existing keys erased. Bring ALL replacement keys before starting — minimum 2.
- No manual AKL for Land Rover LR3 (Discovery 3) JLR PCF7941 ID46 — professional tool mandatory.
