Notes & cautions
- This chassis Land Rover LR4 (Discovery 4) uses NXP HITAG-PRO ID49 (JLR 2014+, 2010-2016). Lonsdor K518 USA + JLR USA module (separately purchased SKU, ~$200) is the dominant aftermarket path. Autel IM608 Pro II + IMKPA JLR cloud token also supported. AVDI JLR niche tool. Newest 2024+ L460/L461 increasingly dealer-bound.
- JLR smart proximity or remote head key: ensure existing key fob battery is functional before starting.
- Verify chip before booking (this chassis facelift): JLR ID49 HITAG-PRO (2014+) replaced PCF7941 HITAG-2 (2008-2014) which replaced Texas 4D60 (pre-2008). Some 2013-2015 Range Rover and Evoque chassis shipped with mid-cycle chip swap — confirm transponder ID from a working key with Lonsdor K518 reader before quoting.
- Tool kit context: Lonsdor JLR USA module is a SEPARATELY purchased SKU (~$200) — essential for K518 JLR coverage. Autel IMKPA JLR module + cloud token (~$5-15/session). Xhorse KH100 + JLR module also confirmed. APB112 simulator, G-Box bench EEPROM, LKE Smart Key Emulator NOT typically required. XP400 PRO for BCM bench fallback only.
- All existing keys erased. Bring ALL replacement keys before starting — minimum 2.
- No manual AKL for Land Rover LR4 (Discovery 4) JLR ID49 HITAG-PRO — professional tool mandatory.
- AKL for JLR ID49 HITAG-PRO typically needs NASTF + Lonsdor JLR USA module ($200 SKU) + dealer-bound on newest L460/L461.
- Keep all existing/lost key fobs at least 10 metres from vehicle during AKL.
- AKL accessory needs: Lonsdor JLR USA module ($200 SKU) is mandatory for K518 JLR path; Autel IMKPA + JLR cloud token; Xhorse KH100 JLR. APB112 NOT mandatory. G-Box bench EEPROM NOT used. XP400 PRO only if BCM/IMMO EEPROM corrupted (rare).
