What the job needs
- Add a key: 1 existing working key required.
- All keys lost: no existing working key needed.
- PIN / security code: required — ZenZefi cert per ECU.
- Online / server access: required — ZenZefi cert online.
- On-board (no tool) sequence: not available — 2022-2025 W206 has no DIY onboard programming. Mercedes XENTRY / DTS Monaco dealer relearn with valid ZenZefi certificates (6 types per ECU) is the guaranteed path. Aftermarket Add Key without ZenZefi cert is not reliably supported as of 2026-05-23 — Autel IMKPA + G-Box3 published coverage stops at ~2021 MY pre-NTG7.
- On site: engine on · BEV READY + 13V aux · Clear EIS + NTG7 DTCs.
- Bring: Photo ID + vehicle registration. Title strongly recommended. ZenZefi-equipped locksmith log entry or Mercedes dealer service order.

Notes & cautions
- This chassis (EQB EV X243, 2022-2025) is Mercedes EQ-series MBUX 2/3 era BEV with NTG7 secure-gateway architecture and IYZMS5I FCC. EQB shares MFA2 EV platform with EQA (X244) and uses same key + EIS architecture as W206 sedan. EV ignition path: brake + START → READY mode (no engine crank), but EIS/IMMO auth chain identical to ICE W206. Heavy dealer-bound reality — XENTRY ZenZefi cert gate same as W206.
- XENTRY ZenZefi certificates required per ECU + per type — same gate as W206 sedan. MB SD Connect C6 / Star C6 + DTS Monaco 9.02 dealer-grade rig. Aftermarket tools do NOT carry valid ZenZefi certs as of 2026-05-23. EQB-specific: aux 12V battery must stay above 13V during any EIS bench programming — BEV high-voltage system in standby still pulls dome lamp current.
- Verify trim before quoting — EQB 250 / EQB 300 4MATIC / EQB 350 4MATIC all share X243 EV NTG7 architecture. AMG variant not offered. Customer should be referred to Mercedes service for key work if no specialized ZenZefi-equipped locksmith available locally — most independent locksmiths do not yet have NTG7 ZenZefi access for MBUX EVs.
- AKL on this chassis (W206 MBUX) is heavily dealer-bound as of 2026-05-23. ZenZefi certificates per ECU + NTG7 gateway authorization required. Aftermarket AKL coverage on W206 is not in primary published coverage of Autel/Xhorse/Lonsdor/OBDSTAR/AutoProPad. Customer should be referred to Mercedes service for AKL on W206 unless a ZenZefi-equipped specialist locksmith is available.
- Mercedes dealer AKL on W206 NTG7: full XENTRY session at MB-authorized service with valid ZenZefi cert chain. Cost typically 4-8x what an aftermarket locksmith charges on pre-2022 FBS4 BGA chassis. Customer should be advised of cost reality before scheduling.
- Verify trim before quoting AKL: EQB 250 / EQB 300 4MATIC / EQB 350 4MATIC all share X243 EV NTG7 architecture. AKL on BEV adds high-voltage battery pre-conditioning step at XENTRY — increases dealer labor time vs ICE W206 sedan.
