Notes & cautions
- This chassis is Mercedes FBS4/DAS4 (VS30 Sprinter, 2019-2026) and FBS4 key coding is dealer-gated: the key is issued by Mercedes' own online system under two-way cryptographic verification, so no aftermarket tablet - Autel, Xhorse, Lonsdor, OBDSTAR, Launch or otherwise - can add a key or recover an all-keys-lost here. Quote the repair as a dealer visit, a XENTRY-equipped shop, or a specialist EIS/ECU service. Do not book it as an OBD or bench tablet job.
- Confirm the chassis before quoting: the 2007-2018 NCV3/W906 Sprinter that precedes this one is FBS3 with a two-piece Fobik key and IS an aftermarket tablet job, while this VS30/W907 is FBS4 and is not. South American W906 production continued past 2018, so a 2019-plate Sprinter is not automatically VS30 - check the EIS and key shape, not the model year alone.
- Mercedes EIS is fragile — battery support 12V+ MANDATORY; EIS lockout if voltage drops mid-read.
- Mercedes BGA smart key: ensure existing key fob battery is functional before starting.
- There is no bench workaround on FBS4: the EIS is encrypted and its password cannot be read out the way an FBS3 EIS dump allows, so removing the EIS buys nothing. All-keys-lost on this chassis is a dealer or specialist-service job.
- All existing keys erased. Bring ALL replacement BGA keys before starting — minimum 2.
- Keep all existing/lost key fobs at least 10 metres from vehicle during AKL.
