Notes & cautions
- BRZ ZC6 (2013-2021) shares Toyota 86/Scion FR-S smart-key hardware but uses Subaru-branded FCC HYQ14ACX (315 MHz, Texas 4D60 80-bit G) - Toyota-side aftermarket part numbers (89904-CA000 etc.) are NOT interchangeable; verify Subaru-stamped fob before ordering. Programming a Toyota 86 fob on a Subaru BRZ will fail authentication.
- No external PIN required for Subaru Texas 4D60 80-bit G-type add key. Autel/Smart Pro reads IMMO data internally via OBD.
- No internet required for Autel add key on Subaru Texas 4D60 80-bit G-type. Smart Pro ADS2255/ADS2330 requires WiFi for AD server.
- Subaru smart system limit: maximum 4 keys per vehicle. If 4 already programmed, one must be erased before adding new key.
- BRZ ZC6 push-start AKL requires APB112 smart key simulator (about USD 130) - the simulator creates a temporary emulator key that the IMMO accepts, then the new physical fob is registered. Without APB112, AKL is impossible on push-start BRZ; aftermarket OBD path uses APB112 as mandatory hardware. Cite: Autel IMKPA documentation 2024-08.
- No external PIN required for Subaru Texas 4D60 80-bit G-type AKL.
- No internet required for Autel + APB112 AKL on Subaru Texas 4D60 80-bit G-type. Smart Pro requires WiFi for AD server.
- Subaru AKL on G-key / 8A proximity requires APB112 simulator (Autel) OR ADC2015 emulator cable (Smart Pro). Verify tool + accessory before scheduling.
- Min 2 new smart keys recommended for AKL.
- AKL erases all existing key registrations — any lost keys will not be retrievable.
