Notes & cautions
- BRZ ZD8 (2022+) uses Hitachi 8A 128-bit DST-AES chip (NOT the older 4D60 G-key of ZC6). Programming a 4D60 G fob on a ZD8 will fail IMMO sync. Aftermarket flow requires tool firmware 2024-08 or newer for full ZD8 coverage; older firmware exposes G-key path only and rejects the new 8A keys.
- No external PIN required for Subaru Texas DST-AES 8A add key. Autel/Smart Pro reads IMMO data internally via OBD.
- No internet required for Autel add key on Subaru Texas DST-AES 8A. Smart Pro ADS2255/ADS2330 requires WiFi for AD server.
- Subaru smart system limit: maximum 4 keys per vehicle. If 4 already programmed, one must be erased before adding new key.
- BRZ ZD8 shares chassis with Toyota GR86. Subaru-branded 8A keys not interchangeable with Toyota 8A-BA — verify FCC.
- BRZ ZD8 AKL requires APB112 smart key simulator AND Autel IMKPA cloud token (5-15 USD per session) for the 8A H-Master cryptosystem. Without IMKPA token, the IM608 cannot derive the AKL seed and the procedure aborts at "waiting for seed code". Cite: Autel IM608 software changelog 2024-08.
- No external PIN required for Subaru Texas DST-AES 8A AKL.
- No internet required for Autel + APB112 AKL on Subaru Texas DST-AES 8A. Smart Pro requires WiFi for AD server.
- Subaru AKL on G-key / 8A proximity requires APB112 simulator (Autel) OR ADC2015 emulator cable (Smart Pro). Verify tool + accessory before scheduling.
- Min 2 new smart keys recommended for AKL.
- AKL erases all existing key registrations — any lost keys will not be retrievable.
